International Award Winning Photographer
International Print Competition Awards
Wow… I have something really cool and humbling to share with my friends, family, clients, & colleagues.
In my ten year career, this is my first year to enter images into the “International Print Competition”. It was scary to say the least! I would be competing against the best photographers in the world – “was I good enough??” plagued my mind.
At the competition, you can enter 4 images, so I did. I entered 4 of my high school senior images into the “portrait” category. And…. I’ll tell you, it was very challenging to selecting the ones to enter.
The first hurdle is to get a “merit image”. The submitted images are judged on 12 elements that define a merit image as the “gold standard”. Such elements are impact, lighting, composition, creativity, technical excellence, technique, color balance, and more…. These trained judges are tough yet loving. Allowing only the best images to be a “merit”.
THEN, they take all the “merit” images for a second round of judging. The goal in this second round of judging is to determine which images deserve to be in the “Loan Collection”, the best of the best. One of the highest honors in the photography profession.
So… now for the results….
All 4 images got a “Merit”. Sweet. Woo Hoo.
And two of my images were chosen for the prestigious “Loan Collection”. You gotta be kidding me! Really. WOW….
I am indeed humbled & honored.
Here are the loan images!
They will be published in a book with some of the best images in the world and I will be honored at a ceremony in January of 2017 for being a “Gold Medalist” at this years competition.
